private spaces

The private spaces selected for the Biennale ranged from the kid’s room to the party room, from the storage room, the barn and the garage to the funeral parlour attached to the private home, from the doctor’s surgery to the swimming pool, from the vaulted cellar to the attic.
The Biennale invites to typical miners’ quarters, apartment buildings, terraced housed and single homes, to historical and ultra-modern architecture.

Origin, age and occupation of the hosts are just as heterogeneous: war refugee, newcomer from other parts of the country or from abroad, from 8 to 81 years old, housewife, medical doctor, musician, architect, chiropodist, mechanic, politician, therapist, upholsterer, teacher, antique dealer, sales woman and freelancer – familiar with art or in touch
with it for the first time.
